The Lincoln Lawyer

Oh look... another movie based on a book. I have not read the book, but I'm considering it after seeing the movie.

I'm having a hard time evaluating this one. I liked it, but there was something very "off" about it that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it was William H Macy's hair.

Kidding.

Sort of.

Yes, as a matter of fact, that is two reviews in a row now where I've been disturbed by someone's hair. Curious.)

I guess my main problem is that we weren't really given much background information to work off of. So when Mick Haller (Matthew McConaughey) was piecing things together, it kind of made me go "huh?"

Maybe we were just supposed to go along for the ride. In the Lincoln, of course :)

It wasn't very riveting. And I wasn't on the edge of my seat, which is what I expect from courtroom drama movies. So I'm curious about the book.

When a movie like Miracle can hold your attention and still make you completely anxious even though we already know what's going to happen, it would make sense that a movie we know nothing about should have the same result.

Oh... and I think they completely wasted Marisa Tomei. I wish she had a bigger role. (Granted, they're working off the book so maybe she wasn't meant to have a bigger role. But why waste that talent?)
